Falcons (Summer Program)- Mrs. Ariel

Welcome to The Neighborhood School’s Summer Program!

What to expect….

We have lots of fun activities planned this summer and will be constantly on the move so that we can get as much out of the summer as we can! We have field trips planned for almost every day of each week from roller skating and the children’s village to picnics in the park, as well as stimulating science, art, and STEM activities planned to keep everyone’s minds sharp through the summer! Many of you already know me but for those of you that do not, my name is Miss Ariel and I am very excited to be the teacher for the summer program this year! I have worked at The Neighborhood School for over 5 years now in the 3yr old classroom and am currently working toward my bachelor’s degree in elementary education so I am very excited for the chance to get some more experience working with an older group of children!

Schedule and Activities….

I have attached a copy of our summer field trip schedule to this letter so you guys can be prepared for where we will be each day, but I will also post a copy of the schedule in the classroom on the Sign-in desk as well as a more detailed summary of our weekly events on the whiteboard above the sign-in (Any changes to the printed calendar given to you will be noted on the whiteboard). Because we will be taking many filed trips and utilizing our downtown location as much as we can you are always welcome to call or text me if you need to pick-up or drop-off your child while we are away from the building, or for any other questions or concerns for that matter!

Extras Needed for Summer….

We will be doing some sort of water activity each week as long as the weather cooperates with us so I would like to ask for each child to bring a swimsuit, and towel that can be left at the school for the summer so that we are always prepared and nobody gets left out of the fun (I will wash them here at the center after each water day). Your child will also need a reusable water bottle that can be left at school. PLEASE NO PLASTIC DISPOSIBLE WATER BOTTLES (like Smartwater, or Aquafina) as I will need to be able to wash them regularly per DFS regulations. The last thing your child will need to bring is 2 cans of spray sunscreen, as we will be outside much of our time this summer and will be applying sunscreen often I would like to make sure that we have enough! Please be sure to bring the above items for your child by June 19th so that we are prepared and ready for an awesome summer!

I look forward to a great fun filled summer and am very excited for the opportunity to spend this time with your children! As always if you have any questions or concerns feel free to call or text me and I will be sure to respond to you as soon as I have the time to do so!

Thank you!

Miss Ariel
