At The Neighborhood School we work closely with The STRIDE Learning Center and their trained specialists to make sure that each child may receive the services they need. The STRIDE Learning Center offers services such as developmental screenings, trained therapists to deliver services, as well as resources for parents about child development.

STRIDE Learning Center is a developmental preschool in Laramie County specializing in early intervention services. With two locations in Cheyenne and proud partnerships throughout the county, STRIDE Learning Center always puts the children first.

The mission of STRIDE Learning Center is to provide comprehensive, quality services for children with special needs and their families in a safe and compassionate environment so that they may achieve their fullest potential.

The Women, Infants and Children Program (WIC) is a program through the Wyoming Department of Health. The Wyoming WIC Program offers benefits to low-income women who are pregnant, breastfeeding, or who just had a baby, and families with children under the age of 5. Nutritious food items, as well as many other benefits, that focuses on the link between good nutrition and good health.

Peak Wellness offers comprehensive mental health & wellness care for the whole family.

Cheyenne Regional Medical Center-Behavioral Health offers Parent-Child Interaction Therapy. Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) is an evidence-based therapy for children with emotional and behavioral disorders. The goal is to improve the relationship between a parent and child by working on how the parent and child react to each other.

The following is provided during PCIT:

  • Play-therapy sessions with live coaching

  • Child-directed interaction (CDI)

  • Parent-directed interaction (PDI)

  • Exploration of relevant behavior theories and behavior modification

PCIT is meant to:

  • Increase positive interactions between parent and child

  • Improve the child’s self-confidence and self-esteem

  • Help the child learn new ways to express feelings of anger and frustration

  • Increase the child’s attention span

  • Improve the child’s organizational skills

  • Empower parents to consistently set healthy limits with the child
